Clinical Use
C-ANCA are present in 84-100% of patients with generalized Wegener granulomatosis (WG). C-ANCA-positive sera containing PR-3 Abs are 80% sensitive and 97% specific for WG. Positive ANCA results obtained in patients with other types of vasculitis typically give a PANCA pattern and are usually associated with autoantibodies to myeloperoxidase (MPO).
