Specimen Requirement
Collect dark blue EDTA/4.0 mL and send whole blood in original collection tube.
*A COMPLETED BLOOD LEAD ANALYSIS FORM MUST ACCOMPNAY SAMPLE*
Blood Lead Analysis Form
Patient Preparation:
Avoid seafood consumption 48 hours prior to specimen collection. Collection material such as alcohol swabs should be lead free. Use powder-free gloves during collection.

Inductively Coupled Plasma/Mass Spectrometry or Atomic Spectroscopy
Stability
Room Temp: 5 days, Refrigerated: 7 days, Frozen: Unacceptable
Reference Range
The reference range is determined by the performing laboratory and will show on the report.
Turnaround
3-5 days performed Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
Clinical Use
Includes: Arsenic, Lead and Mercury.
