For each timed specimen submitted each tube must be clearly marked with the time collected. Submit all specimens with one order. Draw morning baseline specimen in a red top tube. Physician then administers 250 mcg cosyntropin. Draw additional specimens in red top tubes at 15, 30, 60 minutes. Centrifuge each tube, transfer 1.0 mL serum from each tube into its own screw top transport tube, indicate time on each tube and send.
Each tube must be properly labeled with collection times.
