Collect lt blue (sodium citrate). Refer to Coagulation Instructions. Transfer 1mL plasma to transport tube and indicate “plasma/lt blue” on tube; freeze immediately.

Clinical Use
Useful in the diagnosis of homozygous and heterozygous fibrinogen deficiency as well as dysfibrinogenemia. Used in the diagnosis of disseminated intravascular coagulation. Fibrinogen levels can be used to assess the effectiveness of thrombolytic therapy.
