Specimen Requirement

Collect SST, plain red top or green lithium heparin, 1 mL serum/plasma required. If collecting a SST, after 30 minutes of clotting, centrifuge and send. If collecting a red top or green top, centrifuge, transfer the serum/plasma to a screw top transport tube and indicate sample type on the tube before sending.

Do not collect oxalate, EDTA or citrate plasma.
